Born in Montauro medieval small village of a Calabrian chif town, approaches
the music in very young age. Attracted by the impressive and harmonious
sound of the organ, he cultivates an artistic vocation that takes him to
the study of the first musical notions.The simple study of the summary treaties
of theory and solfeggio and musical history expand in his intimacy the creative
strength of the music, the passion for an art that communicates emotions
without purpose in a universal language. He therefore decides to move in
the United States to begin a musical study of high widening and perfectioning.

In
United States, enrols at the music conservatoire of Lowell University (BOSTON,)
where he obtains
the diploma in musical composition with full marks. He tooh courses at hte
same school in Orchestra Conducting. In the 1976 is inserted in the yearbook
"WHO' S WHO AMONG MUSIC STUDENTS IN AMERICA " that allows him
to speed his career of musician. |

He deepens his studies at the conservatoire "G.VERDI " in Turin, the studies of piano, organ, counterpoint-escape and electronic music. In the conservatoire "G. VERDI" in Milan obtains the diploma in instrumentation for band under the Maestro Ugo Turriani. From Milan at last moves to the conservatoire of "SANTA CECILIA " in Rome where he deepens the stidies of contrapuntal on the choral music. Him assigned a scolaship to frequent the summer courses for composition contemporary c/o ACCADEMIA CHIGIANA of Siena below the direction of Maetro Franco Donatoni and simultaneously gets invited by the same teacher to frequent the ACCEDEMIA DI SANTA CECILIA in Rome where meets the physique GiuseppeDi Giugno that introduces him in the musical world of the IRCAM of Paris moment much importing for his formation and compositive production. From the Parisian experience borns a concrete cooperation with the French composer PASCAL DUSAPIN, that for a short time take him to the ACCADEMIA DI FRANCIA in Rome, this allows him to find out the world of writing based on the micro intervals.

Maestro
Froio gave life to the CENTRO STUDI MUSICA SUD of Soverato Founding the
CATANZARO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA and the ITALIAN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA. Besides
the activity of compositor, director of orchestra, and teacher of harmony,
the Maestro , carries out an intense activity of research on Calabrian musicians,
in fact is of near publication " Vita e Opere di Giovanni Frojo"

With
the above-mentioned orchestra he has performed in of director in different
theatres in the region of Calabria of which has to remembered theatre A.
RENDANO in the town of Cosenza, municipal theatre and theatre MASCIARIin
town of Catanzaro, theatre APOLLO in the town of Crotone and for various
network of which: RAI TRE, VIDEO CALABRIA, TELESPAZIO CALABRIA and TELEMONTECARLO
reshaking exellent criticism and audience assents. Other demonstration of
great importance was the direction of the ITALIAN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA for
the show "IL SABTO DELLO ZECCHINO SPECIALE BEFANA" broadcast on
RAI UNO in 1989. In 1992 he directed the orchestra at the 5° FESTIVAL
MEDITERRANEO DEI DUE MARI DI ALTOMONTE (CS) and in the 1994 at the FESTIVAL
MUSICA E ARCHITETTURA of Gerace (RC). In 1991 in the town of Catanzaro he
won the first prize in the national contest of "S. VITALIANO"
and there after won the prize at the manifestation of "CALABRIA PRODUCE"
After this rich cultural experience il maestro at guide of the ITALIAN CHAMBER
ORCHESTRA, crosses the ocean in 1994 to perform in the first tournée
in North America, performing in TORONTO towns c/o the TORONTO UNIVERSITY,
In BOSTON c/o the DANTA ALIGHIERI SOCIETY, in NEW YORK c/o or the MONT CLAIR
UNIVERSITY in cooperation with the Italian cultural institute, in WORCESTER
c/o the MECHANICS HALL in cooperation with the Italian cultural institute.
In PHILADELPHIA c/o ABINGTON HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE in cooperation with the Italian Consolate in BALTIMORA c/o ARCHBISHOP CURLEY AUDITORIUM in cooperation with the institute of Italian of cultureand at last in WASHINGTON c/o CHURCH OF THE ANNUNCIATION in cooperation with the Italian embassy and the institute of Italian culture. In 1995 he was sent by the tourism association of ANTIBES (France) for a concert to the PALAIS DE CONGRES. In 1996 NEW YORK and WORCESTER see il maestro Froio protagonist of the second tournée in the United Stateses, where in 1999 he gets back for the third tournée in BOSTON performing c/o or the JORDAN HALL of the NEW ENGLAND CONSERVATORY and CHICAGO. Concerts telecasted by RAI INTERNATIONAL. In 2001 directed the STATE PHILARMONIC ORCHESTRA "Moldava" (ROMANIA) c/o the town of VOLOS (Greece.) Lately his rich experience is dedicated to the CATANZARO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA in the concerts for season 2001-2002. |

His
continuos approaches with the many Italian conservatories, intentionally
planned, allowed him to know them in their multiple aspects tecno-didactic
and make an in-depth study in comparison with the Anglo-Saxon school,subject
treated in many conferences. His activity as a composer and musicologist saw him engaged in POLONIA in June 2000 c/o the conservatoire PANSTWOWY ZESPOL SZHOL MUZYCZNYCH for a conference about the Calabrian musicians. |

of his most important works are:ORDINE
SPARSO (for piano), MORTE DI UNA CELLULA (for two violins), ORGANUM (for
string orchestra), INFINITO (for orchestra), UNIVERSO (for orchestra and
chorus). The composer and orchestral conductor FRANCO MANNINO, after a careful analysis of the above-mentioned works required several times the scores for public performances. The Maestro Froio has actively to his assets, different productions of Compact Disc both with the ITALIAN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA and the CATANZARO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. |
